Botswana reopened regulated hunting in 2019 and immediately reminded the world what the Okavango and Chobe fringes hold: the biggest-bodied elephant bulls in Africa, old buffalo in the mopane, and community concessions where quota money lands directly in village trusts. Access is tightly controlled, quotas are conservative, and hunts here feel like the privilege they are — big country, small camps, serious game.
April–September season, peaking June–August as pans dry and elephant concentrate on permanent water.
Fly into Maun or Kasane; virtually all camps are charter-access. Rifle imports are operator-arranged with police clearance. Community-area etiquette matters — your operator briefs it, and the quota fees you pay are visibly local.
Verified Botswana listings appear here as outfitters go live — browse all current hunts or list your operation.
