Namibia is free-range hunting under the biggest sky in Africa: gemsbok lines shimmering across gravel plains, desert-adapted kudu in granite kopjes, springbok herds to the horizon, and a conservancy system so successful the country wrote sustainable use into its constitution. Hunts here are honest-distance, walk-far affairs on enormous properties, with German-influenced camp culture, superb biltong, and some of the best value plains-game packages on the continent.
February–November season; the cool dry core of May–August is ideal — freezing dawns, glass-clear air, game on water. Late season heats up but shortens the stalks.
Fly into Windhoek (WDH); many farms are drivable in 2–4 hours on excellent gravel. Rifle import is a simple border permit. Distances are enormous — charters between regions are routine, and listings mark every airstrip.
